What makes Rhino Shield different than paint? _ by Ted Starmack

I'm sure you’ve heard “It’s not paint!” That was the slogan for Rhino Shield for many years. But it doesn’t really tell you much. The fact is, Rhino Shield is so much more than paint, but it’s really in a class by itself.

RhinoShield is 8 to 10 times thicker than conventional paint, but it looks like an eggshell finish paint and you can see all of the texture through it. You will not lose any wood grain or design texture that exists there now.

It does not contain harmful VOCs, (volatile organic compounds), so it is environmentally safe. In fact it is what’s considered an ultra low VOC material. It is endorsed by the Florida Green Building Coalition.

Rhino Shield is Energy Star approved. It provides an R 6.89 insulation factor, which reflects heat inward in the winter and away in the summer.  You save on both heating and cooling.

It also has a sound-insulating property, reducing noise coming through the walls.

RhinoShield will give your exterior surface a class A fire rating.  Wood or vinyl homes would enjoy the same fire rating as brick or stone homes. You may save some money on your homeowners insurance.

It is backed by a 25-year, non-prorated, transferable warranty against any cracking, chipping, flaking, peeling or blistering.

RhinoShield, resists mold, algae and mildew. It will stay beautiful without having to pressure wash it regularly.
