Factors That Determine the Price of Rhino Shield
It is very
difficult to give a price for Rhino Shield without making an actual inspection,
because there are several factors that affect the price. The factors that determine price are surface area, amount of detail,
access, required preparation, and the substrate. Let’s look at those.
Surface Area
Square footage of surface to be coated has the most direct effect on the cost. In many cases where the customer is having the eaves, soffit and fascia coated, that area is as much as one of the sides of the house.
Detail
A Victorian style home with extensive scroll décor and 7 colors will cost
significantly more than a basic style in 2 colors.
Access
How easy is it to get to all the surfaces? Almost all our work is done from ladders. Using a 40-foot extension ladder, the highest point we can reach is about 32’. Anything higher than that, even if it is only 1 foot of the peak, will require the use of a mechanical lift.
Preparation and Substrate
This is the material that makes up the exterior walls of your house. Brick, wood, stone, stucco, or siding all have different degrees of prep needed, different absorption rates and different finish requirements that all influence the price.

Examples:
Unpainted brick has a much higher
absorption rate than aluminum or plastic siding.
Wood exterior homes often require
extensive scraping and repairs.
How Much is Rhino Shield
That is the number-one question on
peoples’ minds, and it is the hardest to answer without a job site inspection.
But I am going to do my best.
It is important to understand that
Rhino Shield should last about 10 times longer than a traditional paint
job. So, it would stand to reason that
the Rhino Shield material would cost more than traditional paint. Rhino Shield is going to cost about 2.5 to 3
times as much as a reputable painting contractor’s job.
If you plan to stay in your home 8
years or more, Rhino Shield is the best value. It is going to keep your home
looking bright, clean and freshly painted for decades to come. You will spend far more in the long run on
painting every 3 to 5 years than you will invest using RhinoShield.
About 80% of our jobs cost between
$12,000 and $28,000. So, by Pittsburgh standards, if you live in a
smaller home (2-bedroom Cape Cod), you will be on the lower end. If you
have a 4- or 5-bedroom Colonial, you will be on the higher end.
I hope that this article gives you
some idea of the price range for Rhino Shield.
